Working with me…
Does fear, anger, shame, or anxiety get in the way of feeling joy and living your life?
There are often internal conflicts fighting to take over causing you to behave in ways you don’t want or decision paralysis keeping you stuck. I focus on building a trusting relationship and being ‘with’ you to support you as you heal, gain clarity and confidence. Facing concerns and worries about yourself and others takes courage, and there is no need to do it alone.
Do you have parts of yourself that are people-pleasing or avoidant, critical or sabotaging?
There is usually a good reason for these adaptations, aimed at helping you function and survive. Some of these adaptations you want to keep in some way, and others you want to take a back seat. The experiences you had in the past might be replaying unhelpfully in your life, leading to anxiety, frustration, apathy, or depression. Understanding and improving your conflicted parts helps you experience inner calm, clarity, and a life you enjoy.
How I help people

Individuals
We are constantly in relationship, either with ourselves (self-talk) or with other people. Sometimes the way we have adapted in the past that helped us function, hinders us now. It plays out the way we care (or don’t) for ourselves and the way we treat others. This can have a positive effect or lead to unpleasant feelings of anxiety, depression, anger, apathy, dissociation, as well as behaviours that don’t get us the results we want.
Interpersonal Therapy (IPT): works to improve interpersonal relationships and communication patterns. It helps individuals understand the impact of their relationships on their mental health. It enhances social functioning, reduces symptoms of depression and anxiety, and strengthens support networks.
Internal Family Systems (IFS): helps individuals understand and harmonize the different "parts" of their personality, fostering self-awareness and healing. Individuals experience an increase in emotional regulation, self-compassion, and finds it resolves internal conflicts.
Sensorimotor Psychotherapy: Integrates body-centered techniques to address trauma and emotional issues, focusing on the mind-body connection. It reduces trauma symptoms, enhances emotional processing, and improves physical and emotional well-being.
Psychoeducation: Understand your brain, emotions and behaviour, as well as learning more effective coping strategies and skills. This equips people with knowledge, enhances self-management, and promotes recovery.
Benefits:
· Individualised treatment plan that addresses the mind, body, and interpersonal relationships.
· Improved emotional regulation
· Enhanced relationships
· Increased self-awareness
· Effective coping strategies
· Improved overall well-being and resilience.

Couples
I work with couples and tailor the approach to the specific couple dynamic and what they hope to get out of therapy. I integrate Internal Family Systems (IFS), Gottman Method Therapy, and techniques from the Relationships Australia Specialist Course in Couples Therapy.
Internal Family Systems (IFS): IFS helps couples understand and heal the "parts" within each partner that impact their relationship. By recognizing and addressing these internal dynamics, couples can foster deeper empathy and connection.
Gottman Method Therapy: This evidence-based approach focuses on enhancing relationship skills, such as communication, conflict resolution, and emotional regulation. Through structured exercises and interventions, couples build a strong, healthy foundation. Relationships Australia Specialist Course in Couples Therapy: This advanced training has effective strategies to address complex relationship issues, that may address attachment injuries and family dynamics. It emphasises evidence-based practices and supporting couples in achieving their relationship goals.
Benefits:
· Improved communication and conflict resolution
· Greater emotional intimacy and connection
· Enhanced understanding and empathy
· Advanced strategies for addressing complex relationship issues
